Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She's unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her teacher, Miss Honey. The two forge a bond as Miss Honey begins to appreciate Matilda's extraordinary personality. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves to punish those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda could be the school pupils' saving grace!

During her first term at school, the two forge a bond as Miss Honey begins to recognize and appreciate Matilda's extraordinary personality. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves to punish those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace! Packed with high-energy dance numbers, catchy songs and an unforgettable star turn for a young actress, Matilda is a joyous girl power romp. ATTENDANCE GUIDELINES & INFORMATION

  • Every patron, regardless of age, requires a ticket to attend.
  • Shook Theatre has a no “babes in arms” policy, which means that a child must be able to sit in their own seat for the duration of the show in order to attend.
  • Hearing assist devices are available for every performance. Please check with the Box Office prior to the performance. We offer this service free to our patrons but do require that you leave an ID card for each hearing assist that is needed until the device is returned.
  • There are no stairs in the seating area of the theater.
  • If the campus must be closed due to inclement weather or some other unforeseen incident, a performance scheduled during the closure will also be canceled.
