The Maplewood Public Library, a member of the Municipal Library Consortium of St. Louis County, serves the community of Maplewood, MO, a near suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. Founded in 1935, it is one of the oldest libraries in the St. Louis area.
The Library belongs to a nine-member cooperative of independent libraries, with reciprocal borrowing privileges. In 1996, these libraries formed the Municipal Library Consortium to implement a shared automation project, providing access to the Internet for their patrons and a combined title catalog for the member libraries.
