The Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis is an unparalleled triumph of art & architecture. Among its treasures are one of the world’s largest collections of mosaic art, Tiffany stained glass windows and 2 Kilgen pipe organs. Mass and tours offered.

The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louisdoubles as a spectacular mosaic showcase: 83,000 square feet of this church is covered in 41 million pieces of mosaic tiles, making it the world's largest collection of mosiac art. A father-and-son team spent nearly 80 years in creating their masterpiece. A museum dedicated to this long process is located on the lower level of the cathedral.

The cathedral, located in the city's Central West End, was built between 1907 and 1909. Today, it serves the city's Roman Catholic community as a gathering place for worship.

The Cathedral Basilica is open from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Daily Mass is celebrated at 7:00 a.m., 8:00 a.m., and 12:05 p.m. All persons of faith are welcome to attend Mass. However, we ask that visitors who are not participating in Mass, to wait until Mass is completed before touring the Cathedral Basilica.

A full Mass Schedule, including weekend Masses, may be found by accessing this link, or by viewing our Calendar:
