Des Peres Parks was established with a 20 year bond issue in 1973. Located on what was the Lutheran Orphanage property, the 42.5 acre park is home to City Hall and numerous recreational facilities.

Facilities
A tot playground was installed in 2002, and a 5- to 12-year-old playground was completed in 2005.
Please be advised of the following maintenance projects:
The playground for 5-12 year-olds in Des Peres Park is closed for resurfacing. During these improvements the smaller playground will remain open for use. Weather permitting, the project should be completed the week of September 17th.
Tennis courts 5 & 6 in Des Peres Park will be closed September 17-22 for resurfacing.
The park also offers:
- Baseball / Softball Fields (April - July) - Three
- Bike / Jogging Trail - One mile, half-mile, and quarter-mile tracks
- Gazebo – Can be reserved
- Lake / Fishing – Two acres (lake stocked with blue gill, bass and catfish)
