The Compton Heights Concert Band of St. Louis presents exciting, old-fashioned Sousa-style band concerts with world-class guest artists.

The Compton Heights Concert Band of St. Louis attracts over 50,000 listeners annually to its two famed outdoor concert series, "Sunday Serenades" in Francis Park and "Musical Mondays" in Tower Grove Park and its "Sousa Sundays" at Purser Center.

The Compton Heights started in the Compton Heights living room of band organizer, Harry F. Swanger, in 1976. The Band quickly became a metropolitan St. Louis area tradition. Two series of outdoor concerts are presented each summer, "Sunday Serenades" in Francis Park and "Musical Mondays" in Tower Grove Park. An exciting indoor series, "Sousa Sundays" was launched in 2013. The Band's annual Holiday Pops have included headliners such as Peter Nero, Buckwheat Zydeco, Doc Severinsen, Tenor Hugh Smith, The Canadian Brass and Project Trio.

Edward Dolbashian, Music Director & Conductor, is the orchestra and opera conductor at the University of Missouri, Columbia, and the Clayton Symphony.
